Valentino Balboni comes out with titanium exhaust for Lamborghini Huracan STO

The Lamborghini Huracan STO is pretty much perfect straight from the factory, but for some buyers there’s always a desire to tweak things here and there.

And if there’s anyone who knows how to tweak a Lamborghini, it has to be Valentino Balboni, who served as a test driver for the company for almost four decades.

Balboni in 2016 formed his own tuning company called VB, and its latest product is a titanium exhaust system for the Huracan STO. The exhaust actually features a mix of titanium and Inconel, with the latter used for the bellows. According to VB, the designers relied on gas flow optimization technology similar to what’s used in the aerospace industry when developing the exhaust.

We spotted the 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport, the DeLorean EV has a reveal date, and the Brabus 900 Crawler debuted. It’s the Week in Reverse, right here at Motor Authority.

Our spy photographer spotted 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport, again, ahead of its May 10 debut. The next-generation Range Rover Sport appears to feature an evolutionary design. Expect in-cabin technology to take a big leap forward with similar screens and interfaces as the new Range Rover.

Mercedes-AMG and recording artist Will.i.am teamed up to create a one-off car dubbed the Will.i.AMG, which will be auctioned off for charity. The car started out as an AMG 4-Door Coupe, but it’s been fitted with a G-Class front end and a pair of suicide doors. It’s quite a thing.

Is the Range-Challenged 2022 Mazda MX-30 SUV a Real EV?

Having recently driven many of the latest and greatest EVs, I’d started to forget “range anxiety” was a thing. Then a Mazda MX-30 arrived in my driveway, all sexy long hood, coupey roofline, and two-tone (gray over Soul Red) paint. Waitaminit. I gotta drive 83 miles to Saginaw Monday. What’s the EPA range of this MX-30’s 35.5-kWh battery? Only 100 miles!? 

Look, anyone with a casual knowledge of EVs knows that 100 miles of driving range would have been middling for an affordable EV ten years ago; amongst today’s options and their 200-miles-plus figures, the Mazda is seriously lacking. But, hey, the EPA says the MX-30 can do 100 miles, and I’d be putting it to the test trying to achieve, well, 83 percent of that in the real world on a single charge.

Ferrari this week revealed the latest one-off creation resulting from its Special Projects program. The new car is called the SP48 Unica, and it’s based on the F8 Tributo.

Ferrari also made headlines this week with the announcement of a new V-12 engine. The automaker didn’t say when it will arrive but made strong hints that the first application will be the Purosangue crossover due out later this year.
