Screen Shot from 1997 Automotive Hall of Fame Grand Opening Gala Cybercast, Caroll Shelby interview

Co-founders Note February 27 2022, 26 years later. The Auto Channel was at the AOF and streaming LIVE from the Grand Opening of The Automotive Hall of Fame Gala, creating the world’s first live cybercast event, ever.

As you can see from the the coverage elements and a list of interviewees, we have uncovered a historic treasure.

So why can’t you watch these historic videos?

The problem is that Microsoft stopped supporting the streaming technology we used, although they swore to us that they would support it forever.

The Auto Channel’s pioneering video streaming team is ready to serve these videos, so, if there are any Microsoft folks here who wish to help we would love to have them provide the code so we can recode to bring these video pieces to life. [email protected]

Maine’s 1st hybrid and electric car repair class now underway in South Portland

Dec. 16—SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — Justin Hynes’ bulky rubber gloves murmured and squeaked as he worked, making noises just shy of rude, bodily functions. Hynes smiled, shaking his head. His classmates chuckled.

But there was no way around it, embarrassing or not.

Together with a 32-hour online training completed prior to arriving on campus, it’s intended to prepare students to take the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence’s light duty hybrid and electric vehicle specialist certification test.

The program is the first of its kind in the state. Until now, Mainers had to travel elsewhere to get

“People say, ‘Well I’m not a car person,’ and while you may not identify as a car enthusiast, every one of us has a car story,” said Donald Osborne, automotive valuation consultant and co-star with Jay Leno of Assess and Caress on Jay Leno’s Garage. Osbourne is also ceo of Audrain, Llc, which hosts the Audrain Newport Concours and Motor Week in Newport, Rhode Island. “Everyone, whether you’re from the Midwest, the Coast, South America, Italy, Germany, France, it doesn’t matter, you can have a conversation about a car because somewhere in their past is a photograph of them with a car. It’s very unlikely that there’s a photograph of them with their refrigerator, them with their laptop, even them standing in front of their house. Cars have a way of imprinting themselves on us and that brings everybody together and is a unifying factor and is
