Adam LZ Debuts His New 1,200 HP Ford Mustang RTR Drift Monster
Adam Joins RTR
He joins the RTR Team with Chelsea DeNofa as his teammate and Vaughn Gittin, Jr. stepping away to concentrate on other RTR and off-road racing duties. “I’m excited to be partnering with RTR this year,” said LZ in a release from RTR, “and having the confidence of one of the most competitive cars and also having a well-oiled machine of a team of seasoned experts.”
The 2022 Drift Beast
The car that LZ will be driving is the 2022 Ford Mustang RTR in Spec 5-FD trim. It features a 455 ci Ford Performance/Roush Yates RY45 with Mahel internals and a Holley Nitrous Oxide System, in case the naturally aspirated power isn’t enough. When he hits that shot, the MoTec M130 ECU makes the RY45 max out at 1,111 hp and turns his Nitto NT555 G2 tires into shreds of rubber and smoke.
Those Nittos are mounted on a set of RTR Aero 7 wheels fitted under the RTR Spec 5-FE widebody kit. Much of the body components are RTR produced including the lightweight carbon kevlar panels. While a custom-made RTR roll cage keeps LZ safe, his Recaro seats and Schroth Racing harness keep him tied into the Mustang.

The off-track component part of that RTR, LZ, and AutoZone plan is bringing major fan interaction to FD events as well as the “Fun-Haver Tour,” which RTR bills as a “a live experiential activation” and will provide enthusiasts the chance “to win prizes, play driving simulators and interact with the brands in meaningful ways.”
