This Custom Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JK Overland Is a Dream Come True

Taking one last look at his Mercedes-Benz sedan, Chris Perron told the salesperson, “I won’t need this once I retire.” After 33 years in the military, Chris found himself at a Jeep dealership, ready to trade the rigors of his career (and his sports car) for something geared more for the dirt. To the bewilderment of the sales staff, he parted ways with the CLS 550, drove away from the dealership in a 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Recon Edition, and never looked back.

Although this was his first off-road vehicle, Chris knew he’d end up with a Jeep. He just couldn’t beat the vehicle’s ruggedness and the storage beneath the hardtop. Once the Wrangler was his, he methodically modified it to suit his specifications. Chris fine-tuned the Jeep’s suspension setup, matched tires and wheels to his off-roading style, augmented nighttime visibility, and tailored the cargo area to fit his

2023 Lexus RX Peeks Its New Face, Headlights Out Ahead of Debut

While there’s not much we can make out from the teaser beyond the expected Lexus styling cues, which track with the recently introduced new-generation NX compact SUV (which arrived for 2022), we do anticipate the crossover will gain a lot beneath the surface. Look for a switch to Toyota/Lexus’s latest TNGA architecture, the adoption of the same dazzlingly large touchscreen display from the smaller NX, possibly some of that SUV’s newer and smaller engines to augment or replace the outgoing RX’s V-6, and maybe even the NX’s retractable electronic door handles.

Expect a hybrid to again be part of the mix, but, like the NX, it’s entirely possible the RX could adopt a plug-in hybrid version in addition to the strict gas-electric hybrid option it’s offered for the past 15 years or so. A more integrated third-row seating option—currently relegated to an oddly stretched RX L model (pictured in the

Leaked Image Suggests 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R Gets 5.2L V-8

Ford confirmed early last year that the Ford F-150 Raptor R will be powered by a street-legal V-8. That’s great news for enthusiasts who yearn for the deep rumble of a V-8 instead of the wheeze of a V-6, even a high horsepower V-6 with stats akin to a V-8. However, Ford isn’t participating in the conversation surrounding which V-8 its rad off-road truck will get, telling us more details will be coming later this year.

About a year ago, we speculated that the Ford F-150 Raptor R would get a supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 Predator. In the the Mustang Shelby GT500, this aluminum DOHC 32-valve Predator engine produces 760 hp and 625 lb-ft of torque. This would beat the output of the Ram 1500 TRX’s pushrod 16-valve supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 “Hellcat” number of 702 hp, but fall short of its 650 lb-ft of torque. However, since

2024 Honda Prologue Sketch Reveals First New GM-Based EV Crossover

Honda will be playing catchup when it comes to all-electric vehicles; the first offering is not due until 2024. To keep up our interest in the interim, the automaker has released a sketch of the exterior of the Honda Prologue electric midsize SUV that will lead its electric charge. The Prologue was developed with General Motors and will use the same BEV3 electric vehicle architecture as the similarly sized 2023 Cadillac Lyriq, as well as Buick and Chevy EVs in the midsize crossover segment. The Prologue will also use GM’s Ultium battery management system and will be manufactured at a GM plant.

But the top hat is all Honda, designed and developed at the Honda Design Studio in the Los Angeles, in collaboration with the design team in Japan. From the sketch we see the look is sleek, clean, and simple, with flush door handles to help with aerodynamics. The
