Another automotive dealership on the way for the Carlisle Pike

There is no shortage of automotive dealerships on the Carlisle Pike.

There are several preowned dealerships and numerous new car dealerships.

The choices are many – from Nissan, Ford, Toyota and Mitsubishi to BMW, Maserati, Audi, Porsche, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz and more. And there is also a Harley Davidson motorcycle dealership as well.

And soon another dealership will be built on the Carlisle Pike.

The new automotive dealership will be located at 6458 Carlisle Pike in Silver Spring Township at the site of Noland, a plumbing supplies store. The 46,000-square-foot building will be redeveloped into an automotive dealership.

Whether the new dealership will be selling preowned cars or new cars, and which dealership is planned for the new location has not yet been announced.

A preliminary and final land development plan for the property was submitted to Silver Spring Township. The plan was presented at the virtual Silver Spring Township Planning Commission meeting on Thursday night. The commission recommended approval of the plan. The plan still has to be approved by the Silver Spring Township Board of Commissioners.

Mechanicsburg Noland is located between ABC West Lanes and Appalachian Brewing Company Mechanicsburg. It’s not clear what the future plans are for the plumbing supplies store. A manager at the Silver Spring Township store referred calls to the corporate office of Winsupply in Cleveland, Ohio, which owns Noland. Officials at Winsupply could not be reached for comment.

The developer is Lemoyne-based Presbyterian Development, which also plans to build a 45,000-square-foot warehouse at 2450 Gettysburg Road in Lower Allen Township.

And the new dealership isn’t the only construction project in the area. Across the street next to the Trindle Run Center, a small shopping plaza, ModWash is constructing a new carwash facility at 6465 Carlisle Pike in Silver Spring Township that is expected to open next month in the former location of Quick Quality Car Wash. That location will be the fourth location of 25 locations that ModWash plans to open in Pennsylvania by the end of next year. ModWash opened the first three facilities last year. The Carlisle Pike location will be the first of seven locations to open in the state this year. And next year it expects to open 15 more locations.

And up the street at the Party City-anchored Shoppes at Silver Spring at 6499 Carlisle Pike in Silver Spring Township, a developer plans to build a 25,100-square-foot retailer center and a 4,100-square-foot bank on a vacant piece of land at the shopping center.
