SpeedKore’s Hellephant-Powered 1970 Dodge Charge Is Extremely Custom
Even though it looks like a Charger from the ’70s, the Hellraiser is bespoke from the ground up. The carbon fiber bodywork is made in-house and layered on top of a SpeedKore designed frame that features an integrated roll cage. Front suspension is from a C6 Corvette, and the 9-inch Ford rear axle is supported by custom SpeedKore suspension and double-adjustable Penske shocks.
Grunt is supplied via Dodge’s 7.0-liter supercharged “Hellephant” V-8 that kicks out a ridiculous 1,000 horsepower and 950 lb-ft of torque. Clearly this thing is here to put the normal Hellcat-powered Charger to shame. The engine is mounted to a Dodge Demon-spec ZF 8-speed transmission and drive is, of course, sent to the rear. The whole thing rides on a set of HRE S201 three-piece wheels which are then wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubber.
The grille (and all the other brightwork on the car) is machined from solid aluminum, there’s a hood cut out that exposes the 3.0-liter supercharger, and there’s a custom SpeedKore exhaust. The interior is just as custom as the outside, and shares little aside from a general layout with the original Charger. There are Recaro Sportster GT seats and a set of retro gauges.
It looks like Hart got what he wanted, it just turns out that it’s exactly what we want, too.
