Sportier Mazda CX-3 Soon to Be Available in SA Market
Orders for the enhanced Mazda CX-3 were recently open across Mazda dealerships in South Africa. The popular compact SUV was first revealed in 2014 and has undergone a mild update for the better half of 2018. A handful of exterior and interior updates have been thoughtfully implemented to give the vehicle a refreshing feel. With all the style of a hatchback paired with the functional versatility of an SUV, there’s no going wrong with Mazda’s CX-3.
The most striking aesthetic change is the front fog lamp bezel colour which is now black. Accompanying this are 18-inch alloy wheels and a more pronounced grill featuring less but more prominent lines than before. There is also an option of LED rear combination lamps for the Individual and Individual Plus variants. There is also a new color on the block, with the Soul Red Crystal now a part of CX-3 colour palette range.
On the inside, leather seat upholstery is now standard for Individual & Individual Plus. There are also fancier cup holders and centre armrest in the rear which has cup holders too. These features, along with an automatic dimming rear-view mirror feature are included from the Dynamic variant.
The range remains as before, with 6 derivatives available for the South African Market. The line-up features the renowned 2.0-litre SKYACTIV petrol engine which is available in either six-speed manual or in an automatic transmission. The engine powers at around 115 kW which is just the right figure for swift and energetic driving through city congestion.
The upgrade, though subtle, has proved to be a great reminder of the potential vested in this car. An excellent family car, the Mazda CX-3 has an undeniable charm. With the market for crossovers becoming increasingly dense, it’s great to have a reliable and attractive option amidst it all.
